Food Guidelines
A comprehensive snack list can be found in the Parent Manual. It is also posted outside each classroom.
Heritage School is a peanut and nut free zone!
· Children bring their own lunch when staying for afternoon programs
· No refrigeration or heating is offered so please include an icepack in the lunch box or bag
· No peanut butter sandwiches
· No foods prepared with nuts, peanuts or peanut oils
· Please avoid foods in messy containers such as Go-gurt
Try to include foods from all four food groups when preparing your child's lunch.
We encourage healthy eating habits in the classroom.
Classroom snacks are provided by our parents and should be brought in according to the system that your teacher has established. Please remember that we serve only water at snacktime; no juices. Also check with your child's teacher about any food allergies a classmate might have.
Please read all labels to be sure all foods brought in are PEANUT AND NUT FREE.
Suggestions for appropriate classroom snacks: string or cubed cheese, carrots, grapes, bananas, goldfish crackers, popcorn, graham crackers, raisins, crackers, Cheerios, Chex, Rice Krispy treats, Jell-O jigglers cut into the letter of the week, mini-muffins, apples, mini bagels, rice cakes, yogurt covered raisins, fruit juice popsicles, bread and butter/jelly, pretzels, dried fruit, clementines and other fruit.
